Rescue Guinea Pigs

Baby Guinea Pigs are some of the cutest little animals you could possibly find, and it can be very tempting to visit your local pet shop and buy a cute baby guinea pig. It is at this time that it would be good to stop and think about the huge number of guinea pigs in sanctuaries and rescue homes who desperately need homes.
Often these guinea pigs have been dumped by people who do not want to look after them any longer, or who have mistreated them in the past. At the sanctuaries they are looked after brilliantly and nursed back to full health, but often they need a new home where they can get the love and care which they deserve.
We have two guinea pigs from a sanctuary, who were brilliantly looked after, but we were able to offer them a loving home and the time and cuddles which they need. Sometimes they can be distrusting and nervous at the beginning, depending on their background, but it makes it all the more rewarding when they settle into their new home, and are eating from your hand and are cuddled up in your arms.
